It’s essential to consider skincare treatments for your wedding day several months before your vows. These that can help you feel your best.

Preparing for Your Wedding Day

If you’re a bride-to-be, you know that that wedding checklist seems to start as soon as the ring is on your finger! There are endless things calling your name and vying for your attention: invitations, guest lists, dresses, and catering, just to name a few. Amid all the things you want to accomplish, it’s essential to consider treatments and skincare for your wedding day several months before your vows. Although nearly everyone thinks of a manicure, pedicure, and hairstyle for this important milestone, several more esthetic treatments that can boost your confidence and help you feel your best.

12 Months before the wedding:

Some brides don't have a full year from an engagement to their wedding date, but if you do, it's time to consider treatments that take longer, such as teeth straightening or waxing. It’s also important to make lifestyle changes several months in advance if you plan to incorporate a new workout routine or dietary changes, so 12 months beforehand is ideal.

9 Months before the wedding:

Nine months before your wedding is the perfect time to begin your esthetic consultations at Renew Medical Spa. Our experienced staff recommends this time because some treatments need to be started six months before your big day, and ample time ensures that you can hear details and recovery times for all the treatments you hope to undergo. At this point, you will also want to begin any vitamins or supplements for your hair and skincare. This is also the ideal time to begin laser hair reduction. Laser hair reduction treatments need to be done at 6-week intervals, so consulting for your treatments needs to be done before the six-month deadline. You can have laser hair reduction done on areas such as your legs, back, lip, chin, arms, and neck, and feel ultra-confident in your wedding attire.

6 Months before the wedding:

At the six-month mark, it’s time to begin scheduling regular facials and considering treatments like CoolSculpting®. Facials: Six months gives your skin time to adjust to facial treatments and for your experienced esthetician to make necessary changes to your skincare regimen. We recommend our signature Renew HydroPlus Facial, which can be done monthly leading up to your wedding day. It corrects skin imbalances such as clogged pores, dullness, dryness, and inflammation. It includes medical grade HydroPlus serum, as well as a steam, cleanse, extractions, and a relaxing massage. CoolSculpting®: This unique technology can help target and eliminate unwanted fat cells in areas like the bra line (perfect if you’re wearing a sleeveless or strapless wedding gown) that won’t go away with traditional exercise or diet. It’s ideal because it has minimal downtime and can be used for small, selective areas of the body.

3 Months before the wedding:

At this point, you are getting close to such an important day, so most of your drastic changes will have already been made. Therefore, focusing on treatments with a relatively short recovery time is essential and won't require any touch-ups closer to the wedding date. Here are some procedures to consider:Chemical Peels: You can see improvement in skin tone, texture, vibrance, and pore size after just a single chemical peel, but most patients have a series of 3-6 treatments. There is minimal recovery time, but some patients experience peeling or redness, so you want to do this at the 3 month mark. Injectables: Botox® can help improve frown lines between the eyebrows, horizontal lines across the forehead, and lines around the eyes. Because many of these things show up in portraits, three months before your wedding is a great time to have Botox® administered. The effects can last 3-4 months, so you’ll look picture-perfect.Dermal Fillers: These fillers are used to restore volume or add volume to your facial features. A dermal filler can improve the appearance of the folds between your mouth and nose, smile lines, wrinkles around your lips, and under-eye circles. Some brides also have dermal fillers administered for lip augmentation for a fuller pout on their wedding day and honeymoon. The effects of these fillers can last for six months to two years, depending on what type is used.

1 Month before the wedding:

All treatments that require a recovery time should be avoided, and instead, you should consider treatments that have no downtime. Teeth whitening, waxing, and facials are appropriate choices so close to the big day. We also recommend not beginning a new skincare or product routine in case your skin reacts to a new addition. Instead, keep your skin moisturized and protected from the sun, and enjoy all the special moments ahead!

Day of your wedding:

You should use your regular regimen of moisturizer and cleanser and apply SPF. If you’re having professional makeup done, select one that is highly rated and uses proper cleansing hygiene of brushes. Experience and credentials will ensure that your wedding day look is exactly what you’ve hoped for. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life! But if you are a bride with a short engagement, you can still fit in many esthetic treatments to get that wedding-day glow.
